According to the California Vehicle code (CVC 400 (a) and CVC 405), a M1 Motorcycle License is required to operate ANY two-wheeled vehicle that doesn’t have pedals—either a motor-driven cycle (149cc and below) or a Motorcycle (150cc and above) . An M2 License is for mopeds---which are motorized vehicles with pedals. Our fleet of scooters are all M1 compliant.
As you can see, any two-wheeled vehicle that do not have pedals requires a California M1 License to operate legally, thus you have to be able to test on them.
The scooter utilized for the examination must possess current registration and insurance coverage. Additionally, the scooter must be in complete working order, including all components such as the horn, turn signals, and any other essential features.
