Can I get a M1 Motorcycle License on your scooters?

100% YES!!!

According to the California Vehicle code (CVC 400 (a) and CVC 405), a M1 Motorcycle License is required to operate ANY two-wheeled vehicle that doesn’t have pedals—either a motor-driven cycle (149cc and below) or a Motorcycle (150cc and above) . An M2 License is for mopeds---which are motorized vehicles with pedals. Our fleet of scooters are all M1 compliant.

As you can see, any two-wheeled vehicle that do not have pedals requires a California M1 License to operate legally, thus you have to be able to test on them.

The scooter utilized for the examination must possess current registration and insurance coverage. Additionally, the scooter must be in complete working order, including all components such as the horn, turn signals, and any other essential features.

  • Before I rent your scooter for the test, what requirements must I fulfill with the DMV?

Must have a current California Motorcycle Permit.

  • Why is the pricing for DMVs outside of San Francisco higher?

My 150 cc scooter isn't suitable for freeway driving. Therefore, I must take local/backroads roads when traveling to the Daly City or Corta Matra DMV from San Francisco.

In order to take the DMV test in Daly City, I will need to allocate approximately 4 to 5 hours of my time. This includes a round-trip commute of 2 hours and a waiting period of 2 to 3 hours at the DMV.

  • What happens when I get to the DMV? Do I check in first?

Please be sure to meet with me prior to checking in. I will need to provide you with the scooter's registration and insurance paperwork before you can proceed with the check-in process.

  • When and how do I pay?

Payment is due on the day of the test.  Cash only, please.
